Mr. Jae Wan Lee

Jae Wan has been involved in the engineering industry for nearly 40 years, as an expert in the transport sector. His vast knowledge and experience in public and private and international organizations have shaped him to become one of the most influential figures in Korean engineering and consulting industry. Jae Wan began his career when he joined the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in 1978 as Project Engineer and progressed to become Director of Port Development division, responsible for nine new port development projects. In 1999, he moved to Bangkok to work as a Senior Transport Expert in United Nations ESCAP for three years. He is now the Chairman and CEO of Sekwang Engineering Consultants, a private company which offers port and civil engineering and consulting services, and a Visiting Professor at Yonsei University in Seoul. He also represents various non-profit organizations, as President of International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), Chairman of Korea Engineering & Consulting Association (KENCA), President of Korea Maritime Foundation, and Board Member of the Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology. In previous years, he served as Chair of Korea Marine Business Association, Chairman of the Board of Ulsan Port Authority and Chair of Korea Coastal Management Association
